Good Riddance (Time of your Life)

Artist: Greenday
Album: Nimrod

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So, make the best of this test and don't ask why
It's not a question but a lesson learned in time
It's something unpredictable but, in the end, is right
I hope you had the time of your life

So, take the photographs and still-frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth, it was worth all the while
It's something unpredictable but, in the end, is right
I hope you had the time of your life

INSTRUMENTAL INTERLUDE

It's something unpredictable but, in the end, is right
I hope you had the time of your life

It's something unpredictable but, in the end, is right
I hope you had the time of your life.
***At first, you will think that the meaning of the song is very inspirational. Like, we can only live once and no matter how things go wrong, we still need to move on. Life is unpredictable but in the end, everything turns out right for things happen for a reason.
But, this song was written by BJ Armstrong out of sarcasm. His girlfriend moved to Ecuador and he named the song "Good Riddance" with a subtitle, Time of your Life.
In the line, "I hope you had the time of your life", it's like BJ is saying to her ex-girlfriend, "I hope you are happy now after messing up my life".
Cool song.

Accidentally in Love

Artist: Counting Crows
Album:
So she said what's the problem baby
What's the problem I don't know
Well maybe I'm in love (love)
Think about it every time
I think about it
Can't stop thinking 'bout it

How much longer will it take to cure this
Just to cure it cause I can't ignore it if it's love (love)
Makes me wanna turn around and face me but I don't know nothing 'bout love

Come on, come on
Turn a little faster
Come on, come on
The world will follow after
Come on, come on
Cause everybody's after love

So I said I'm a snowball running
Running down into the spring that's coming all this love
Melting under blue skies
Belting out sunlight
Shimmering love

Well baby I surrender
To the strawberry ice cream
Never ever end of all this love
Well I didn't mean to do it
But there's no escaping your love

These lines of lightning
Mean we're never alone,
Never alone, no, no

Come on, Come on
Move a little closer
Come on, Come on
I want to hear you whisper
Come on, Come on
Settle down inside my love

Come on, come on
Jump a little higher
Come on, come on
If you feel a little lighter
Come on, come on
We were once
Upon a time in love

We're accidentally in love
Accidentally in love (x7)

Accidentally

I'm In Love, I'm in Love,
I'm in Love, I'm in Love,
I'm in Love, I'm in Love,
Accidentally (X 2)

Come on, come on
Spin a little tighter
Come on, come on
And the world's a little brighter
Come on, come on
Just get yourself inside her

Love ...I'm in love
***The songwriter of the song, Adam Duritz, wrote a song not about Shrek but what was really happening to him, falling in love with someone he did not expect, like there is no escaping love(just like the line from his song, "Well I didn't mean to do it, but there's no escaping your love".
This song reminds me of love finding you, not you finding love. It is a great feeling being "accidentally in love", not forcing ourselves to fall in love with someone and also, not expecting ourselves to feel it. That's why it's called, "falling in love" in the first place.
There are times that love just walk into our lives the least we expect it and that is what magical about it. Falling in love just happens and if you fell for someone you did not expect, its like a disease you wanna cure but couldn't.
Pretty interesting..

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Artist: Deep Blue Something
Album: Home

You say that we've got nothing in common
No common ground to start from
And we're falling apart
You'll say the world has come between us
Our lives have come between us
But I know you just don't care

CHORUS:
And I said what about "Breakfast at Tiffany's?
She said, "I think I remember the film,
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it."
And I said, "Well, that's the one thing we've got."

I see you - the only one who knew me
And now your eyes see through me
I guess I was wrong
So what now? It's plain to see we're over,
And I hate when things are over -
When so much is left undone

CHORUS:
And I said what about "Breakfast at Tiffany's?
She said, "I think I remember the film,
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it."
And I said, "Well, that's the one thing we've got."

You say that we've got nothing in common
No common ground to start from
And we're falling apart
You'll say the world has come between us
Our lives have come between us
But I know you just don't care

CHORUS:
And I said what about "Breakfast at Tiffany's?
She said, "I think I remember the film,
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it."
And I said, "Well, that's the one thing we've got."

*** I heard the song again on my way to the office. I used to like the song before but constantly listening to new launch albums made me forget about this uncommon song. It's about a failing relationship of lovers, one partner believes that they don't have something in common while the other focuses on the fact that they both love the movie, Breakfast at Tiffanys.

How usual for people to look for partners who have the same passion that they do. Personally, I don't want someone who would not compliment me. So, where's the saying, "Opposites attract" applies? Because basically, if two persons simply don't have anything in common, how will the relationship work?

And don't forget about compromising, it's another story..
